Biking
Routes, roads and trails for every style
Don’t visit Parkland County without packing your bike! Endless scenic paved and gravel roads spread out in every direction. More of a dirt shredder? You’ll find more trails than you can shake a spare tube at, with options for every skill level.
Chickakoo Lake Recreation Area
With over 14 km of interconnected trails, Chickakoo Lake Recreation Area is a great place for an afternoon of mountain biking with friends and family. A healthy mix of easy, intermediate and advanced trails make this park ideal for progressing your skills.
Wabamun Lake Provincial Park
Need a break from the beach? The range and township roads to the east and west of Wabamun Lake make for great gravel cycling. Looking for a longer loop? Start in Carvel, make your way south to Jackfish Lake and beyond to the North Saskatchewan River and back on quiet gravel.
The trails we hit when we want to mix it up
The river valley in Edmonton is great, but it’s good to mix it up. Whenever we’re heading west we like to bring the bikes and pop over to the trails at Chickakoo Lake Recreation Area. Good mix of green and blue trails.
Tons of wildlife too, so once we’ve ripped around the 14ish km of trails there’s still lots to see. Pack a picnic and just enjoy the scenery.
